This Privacy Policy explains how Sano (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Sano mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication credentials managed through our auth provider.
Pet and care data. Information you enter, such as pet names, species, medication schedules, vaccination records, meal and walk routines, dose logs, and optional notes.
Photos. If you choose to set a pet thumbnail, the image you select is uploaded and stored to display in the app.
Family sharing. If you use family features, we store invite details and membership so shared households can access the same pet data.
Device and usage data. We collect technical information needed to run the app (device type, OS version, app version), crash reports, and product analytics about how features are used. On iOS, we may ask for permission before using data for cross-app tracking; you can decline without losing core app functionality.
Purchases. Subscription status is processed by Apple or Google and RevenueCat; we receive entitlement status, not your full payment card details.
Notifications. If you enable reminders, we use a push notification token to deliver alerts you configure.
2. How we use information
- Provide, sync, and back up your pet care data

- Enable family sharing and account security
- Process subscriptions and restore purchases
- Monitor reliability, fix bugs, and improve the Service
- Understand aggregate feature usage to improve the product
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Service providers that host data, deliver notifications, process subscriptions, analyze crashes, or measure product usage — under contracts that limit their use of your data
- Family members you explicitly invite to your household
- Legal requirements when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required
Typical categories of providers include cloud database and authentication (Supabase), analytics (Mixpanel), error monitoring (Sentry), subscription management (RevenueCat), media storage and delivery (Cloudflare), and Apple/Google for payments and push delivery.
4. Data storage and security
Data is stored on secure infrastructure with access controls. The app also keeps a local copy on your device for offline use. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to protect your information using reasonable technical and organizational measures.
5. Retention
We retain your information while your account is active. You can delete your data from the app settings and delete your account entirely; we then delete or anonymize associated server data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or backup purposes.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and update pet and account information in the app
- Turn notifications on or off in device or app settings
- Decline iOS App Tracking Transparency when prompted
- Delete local and cloud data, or delete your account, from Settings
- Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable law provides rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights regarding your personal information. We will respond to verified requests as required by law.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data so we can delete it.
8. International users
If you use the Service from outside the country where our providers operate, your information may be processed in other countries with different data protection laws. We take steps consistent with this policy when transferring data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate.
